Where we ship
United States only at launch. That includes all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Alaska and Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and military APO and FPO addresses.
Carrier and handling
We ship USPS Ground Advantage by default. In-stock orders ship within 2 to 5 business days. Pre-order kits ship as the production batch lands, and we email a heads-up before they go out.
Tracking
A tracking link is sent to your email once the kit ships.
Free shipping
Shipping is always free. Never a coupon, never a tier.
A Second Envelope
If you and your parent live in different cities, you can add A Second Envelope at checkout for $9. We ship the kit to you with a pre-paid USPS label addressed to your parent, a blank notecard, and a sticker for the outer mailer. You write a note in your own handwriting, put the sticker on the box, and drop it in any mailbox. The package arrives at your parent's door from your return address, not from a company they do not know. If you decide after the kit arrives that you would rather we ship direct, reply to the email we send and we will refund the $9.
Address changes
Email hello@thefamilyword.com within 24 hours of placing the order to change the shipping address. After that the kit may already be in production or in transit.
Undeliverable or returned
If a kit comes back to us as undeliverable, we re-ship after confirming the correct address with you. No extra charge.
Lost packages
If a package is not delivered, we file a USPS trace and ship a replacement if the package is not located within 10 business days.
Expedited shipping
Expedited shipping is not offered at launch. We will add it if demand warrants.
International
International shipping is not yet available. Sign up via contact to be notified when we add a country.
